IB Student Meetings

Grade 9 and 10 Students

  • Meet the first Thursday of each month from September - April each school year in OHS Theater.
  • Topics are picked by the students in the September meeting
  • All non-IB students that are interested in IB are invited to attend as well!
  • 2013-2014 Dates are:
    • Sept 5 
    • Oct 3 - Diploma vs Certificate
    • Nov 7 - AP vs IB
    • Dec 5 - CANCELED
    • Jan 16 - for 10th graders only - mandatory registration meeting
    • Jan 23 - for 9th graders only - mandatory registration meeting
    • Feb 6 - IB Students come for Q&AMarch 6 - EE and CAS requirements
    • April 3 - IB Testing overview

 

Grade 11 and 12 Students

    • IB Club Meetings are typcially the 2nd Thursday of each month from September - April each school year in the OHS Theater.  Topics are picked by the students in the September meeting.
    • All students taking at least one IB class should attend each month
    • 2013-2014 Dates are:
      • Sept 12 - May 2014 Testing Meeting - all students taking an exam in May 2014 must attend!
      • Oct 3
      • Nov 21 - CANCELED
      • Dec 19 - Favorite Foods Party - juniors, seniors, IB alumni, and teachers bring their favorite holiday/family foods to share!  Plates, napkins, utensils and water will be provided.  12:15pm - ?  Room: TBD
      • Jan 9 - for 11th graders only - mandatory registration meeting
      • Feb 13
      • March 13
      • April 10    


Student Calendar and Timeline

    Each IB student needs to have a planner (either digital or pencil/paper) that they carry with them to school daily. This calendar should have all important class dates and details as well as all of the IB dates listed below.

  • IB Handbook for Oakmont HS 2014-2015 School Year
  • IB Signature Paper for 2014-2015 School Year - this paper is due no later than May 1, 2014 to Mrs. Mahoney for all current 8th, 9th, and 10th graders.

Diploma vs. Certificate Pathway

Each IB student needs to choose which pathway is going to be best fit for their educational goals.  Students should attend the grade 9 and 10 monthly meetings to learn more about their options and the various pathways they can take in IB.
