Seniors & Senior Parents

Counselors are meeting with seniors in September and October regarding applications to college, and other post secondary plans. Your student will be given an individualized action plan based on their goals after high school. We are unable to mail this checklist due to budgetary constraints, so please ask your senior to share this information and letter with you.

Seniors who are applying to CSU should apply starting Thursday, October 1 and ending Nov. 30. The CSU system has made a formal announcement to encourage students to apply early (especially as there will be no technical support over the Thanksgiving holidays. Students applying to a UC may submit applications in the month of November only.

Community Colleges have also warned us that they will be severely overcrowded so apply for Sierra for Fall of 2010 in January. ARC applications will not be accepted until Feb. 1, 2010.

Mark your calendars for the informative Financial Aid Workshop, Jan. 12 at 6:30 at Granite Bay High School. For private scholarships consult finaid.com and fastweb.com. Local scholarship booklets and applications will not be available until January in the College and Career Center.
